Reflection

 Mr. know all Reflection

1. I enjoyed reading the story because I like stories that inculde a character that everybody
makes fun of  and  is unappreciated.  In end the character does something that makes even one of the other characters change his mind about him even if it's the smallest change. Mr. Kelada was able to change a little bit the narrator's attitude from disliking him to not entirley disliking him.

2. I found that the fact in which no one knew the truth is upsetting .The truth that Mr. kelada lost in the bet on purpose in order to help Mr. Ramsay.   It's annoying  that no one, except the narrator knew the truth that Mr. Kelada right and he just lied to protect Mrs. Ramsay's marriage and that everybody was laughing at him.

3. The thinking skills helped me understand why the characters acted like they did.
For example, the explaining patterns thinking skill helped me understand why Mr. Kelada
was so friendly and familiar to everybody and that's beacuse he wanted them to accept him.
Morever, the uncovering motives helped me to understand why Mrs. Ramsay did not want
to tell the truth about the pearls, so she could hide from her husband that she was cheating on him.
In conclusion, the thinking skills help us to understand the behavior of the characters.

Post-Reading

 Mr. know all
post-reading activity - a new ending to the story

After Mr. Kelada lost  the bet, everybody was laughing at him and mocking him,
"the big pearls expert lost a bet about perals". Mr. Kelada was insulted and he felt like
he lost his dignity and he got more and more dippressed.

The narrator who saw and knew the truth couldn't stand it and he felt like he had to do
something about it. The narrator could'nt see the people  laughing at Mr. Kelada and him
suffering  from that. The narrator went to talk with Mrs. Ramsay. He told her that she must tell
the truth to her husband beacuse Mr. Kelada is insulted. Mrs. Ramsay decided to do the right
thing in order return Kelada's dignity.

After the conversation between the two of them, Mrs. Ramsay went to tell the thruth to her
husband , that she was cheating on him and that Kelada lied to protect her. As a result, the
truth had been spread. Kelada got back his honor however, Mr. Ramsay becam a joke and everybody was disrespectful to him.

Mr. Ramsay couldn't handle  the fact that his wife was cheating on him and  the mocking comments of everybody on the boat. He got so mad that he took his shaving knife and turned
to slaughter his wife. Somehow, his wife escaped from him and ran to Kelada's room for protection.
Kelada stopped him after a struggle between them and became a hero that everybody respected and liked.

The Narrator And Mr. Kelada

The narrator and Mr. Kelada are two passengers on board from San Francisco to Japan,
at the time after the first world war. Those two men are the complite oppsite from each other The only comment thing Mr. Kelada and the narrator shares the same British origin..

From the out side, Mr. Kelada has dark skin, flashy-hooked nose, large liquid eyes,
sturdy build, sleek curly hair and clean shaven cheeks. While the narrator appearance

is not described we can assume that he is like a typical British man: clean neat look,
wears custom made clothes, light skin and probably has smooth hair.

Mr. Kelada's features are that he is too familiar, chatty, patriotic, he likes to be involved in everything his geatures are exuberant, he does not know when he is unwanted, he is argumentitive and he never lets a subject down until he convince you no matter how
unimportant the subject is and therefore, he's nick name is "Mr. know all". On the other hand,
the narrator is srict, chauvinist, prejudiced, impatiant, snob, thinks he knows you just by looking at your cloths, way of behaving and your all apearance.

In conclusion, I like Mr. Kelada because of his honesty, thoughtful and friendly behavior,
however, at the end of the story I liked the narrator more than Mr. Kelada because he admited
his mistake and changed a bit the way he sees Mr. Kelada. At the beginning the narrator
disliked Mr. kelada's character and apearance but at the end after he saw Kelada helped Mrs.
Ramasy, saved her marriage at the expense of his dignity, he understood he was wrong and he said "at that moment I did not entirly dislike Mr. Kelada".

what's right and wrong?

Dear diary,

I want to tell you about my last two days, that were completely opposite from each other.
The first one, was a day which I did graceful and unselfish deeds. On the second one, I was
so selfish.

On the first day I gave my friend some money so he could buy himself food at the cafeteriabecause he forgot his money. Afterwards, I went to an other friend's home to bring him the  today's homework beacuse he was sick and couldn't go to school. And on the way home, I saw an old lady struggling to carry her heavy bags and therefore, I asked  if I could help her and she agreed.

On the second day, I refused to let my friend copy my home work in Math just because I thought
I was the only one who answered right. Later that day, there was a test in history and I put
the material in the toilet. On the test, one of my friends went in the toilet without permission. therefore the teacher checked the toilet after him and found the material. Beacuse of that he was accused of cheating on the test, and I acted selfishly and didn't confess to the teacher.

To conclude, at the end of the first day I felt good with myself and helpful, though I did nothing
for myself. And on the second day I felt like a horrible person, who made all the wrong choices. Therefore, I will try to do my best to help others and I'm going to confess to my teacher about what happened.

day lost bridging

Count That Day Lost – Bridging Text and Context

The information about the writer of the poem Count That Day Lost, George Eliot, helped me better understand the meaning of the poem, what the poet intended and why he wrote those things in the poem.

For example, the poem talks about what is a well spent day and according to  the poem that day is  one in which you did a nice and unselfish thing for another. In the information I found that the poet was always
concerned about the right way people were supposed to behave and what they should do. And because of that I understand why the poet wrote such a poem about helping other people.

More ever, the information made me rethink, that the meaning of the poem maybe that the rich people should help the poor ones, because the information mentions that the writer lived in a time when there were huge gaps between the rich people and the poor people and that the writer used to criticize the rich people.

In conclusion, the information about the poet can explain the way the poet writes about that subject, and it can make you rethink about the meaning of the poem. But we definitely need farther information to fully understanding a poem .

Excellent!

road not taken

Reflection
1.  I enjoyed reading the poem because the dilemma of which path to take remembered me my own dilemma in which I had to choose between going to "Nahshon" or science class.
2.  I found the poem interesting and memorable on the fact that everyone can connect to the problem of the speaker. Strong enough connections to make you feel that the speaker’s problem is your own problem.

road not taken analysis and interpretation

1.The dilemma the speaker faced with is which road to choose from the two roads in front of him which was almost the same. His reaction was to stop and think.

2. The speaker stopped and looked on both roads as far as he could. After a while, he chose the grassier road that less people passed on.

3. The speaker seems upset knowing that he probably will never have the chance to travel in the other way, wondering what he missed out there.

4. Which Way
The speaker of the poem "The Road Not Taken", chose to travel in the road that was grassier and less traveled by.

I would choose the same path as the speaker. Because that's path looks more exciting than the other one based on the fact that less people chose that road and I am interested to know why.

More ever, I want to be unique and to choose not like everybody else, and take my own unique way.

In conclusion I would have chosen the same path as the speaker and in my point of view it’s the best and interesting choice.

road not taken prereading

raod not taken

After graduation army I got a chance to study in Oxford University, which is in England. I always wanted to visit England but my parents don’t want me to leave, and they even offered to buy me a new car if ill stay.

I want to go to England because it’s a great place for young students like me, and Oxford university is one of the best universities in the world. Studying there will ensure me a decent job.

On the other hand I lived in Israel my entire life so it will be hard to leave my home, parents, family, friends, and familiar places. Also my parents will be disappointed of me for banding them.

In conclusion I think I will choose to leave Israel and to study in Oxford University. After all opportunity of a lifetime.

Road Not Taken

TEST:  ROAD NOT TAKEN

                                         Road  Not Taken

5. In Robert’s biographer wrote that frost was: “A loner who liked company; a poet of isolation who sought mass audience; a rebel who sought to fit in”this information about Robert helps us understand his character and as a result we can understand his choices in the poem.

For example, the information tales us that Robert was a rebel with an unusual perspective. Rebels have unique choices that most of the people won’t do the same as them. And it explains why in the poem Robert chose the road less people went on.

More ever the information tales us that Robert was also a loner which explains us why he was all alone by himself in the poem.

In conclusion, the best way to fully understanding a poem is not only by the information given in the text. We need background information about the writer, the age the poem was witan in and the events happened then. Only then we can understand the events, characters, and choices made in the poem.

1. One way the tow roads are similar is that both of them enter to a yellow wood. And one different is that one of the roads is grassier mining that more people traveled there.

2. The speaker’s dilemma is which road to chose from the tow in front of him. While both of them are almost the same, and that he got no way to know which road is better to take.

3. In my opinion the poet’s message is that in life you’ll face with choices and dilemmas, without a way to know what is the best choice, and without a second chance to take the other way.

4. I think that the speaker would take the other way if he could go back in time. Because it seems that the speaker wonders what he missed on the other road and that he regrets his choice. We can understand it from the name of the poem that does not mansion the road he took. The poet named the poem about the one he did not take “road not taken”.
More ever his sigh in the poem seems to me as a sigh of regret and disappointment about his choice.
