A Summers Reading p-49 A+B
The background information about Bernard Malamud is reflected in the story Bernard wrote “A Summer’s Reading”.
For example the story is about a young man named George who was an immigrant in America, that lived (a) poor, lonely life in hope that in the future his life would change for the better. The information reflects(gr.-is reflected) (in) the story and in it we have been told(phr.) that the writer of the story often wrote about lonely immigrants middle class with big dreams. Is that all the information tells us?
The information helped me understanding the message of the story better. until now(ww.) I focused on George and his privet(sp.) life and I didn’t noticed(gr.) that the purpose of the story that(מיותר) was about doing the best for what we desire(phr.) .By reading the information that mentioned that the writer often wrote about the little man who had big dreams I understood the message. You have to start by explaining in short and in your own words what the new information you were given says. Then show, in an organized way, how it is all reflected in the story. Finally, explain how it made you understand the story better. It is not enough to write that you understood the message better, you should explicitly write what it is that you understood.
